UK Shipping Crisis Updates
Business As Usual For Furniture Maxi
Despite the challenges, we are committed to our customers, and we are still delivering garden furniture products to our customers as usual. We are trying to stay ahead of the curve and we are shipping in our products earlier than ever, so you could receive your items in time for you to enjoy the spring and summer seasons.
To help keep everyone safe and healthy, our delivery specialists are following strict safety protocols. These include weekly testing, working in fixed teams, travelling in delivery vans equipped with dividing screens, and using personal protective equipment and hand sanitisers.
Increased Freight Rate & Container Crisis
You already might be aware that the pandemic has sparked a global shipping crisis. At present, hundreds of container ships are queuing for access to overloaded ports in the UK and mostly China. In addition, in Europe and the UK, lorry driver shortages mean it is harder to move containers on to their destinations once on land. To make things worse, port closures caused by outbreaks and lockdowns have further extended the traffic jam. All of this has lead to extended lead times and, unfortunately, for most retailers, increased product prices across a wide range of different industries. Despite the challenges, we are committed to our customers, and we are still delivering garden furniture products to our customers.
It's Only Getting Worse
More than 18 months into the pandemic, the disruption to global supply chains is getting worse, spurring shortages of consumer products and making it more expensive for companies to ship goods where they're needed. Companies such as Adidas , Crocs are already warning of disruptions as they prepare for the crucial year-end period.
"The pressures on global supply chains have not eased, and we do not expect them to any time soon," said Bob Biesterfeld, the CEO of C.H. Robinson, one of the world's largest logistics firms.
"We currently expect the market situation only to ease in the first quarter of 2022 at the earliest," Hapag-Lloyd chief executive Rolf Habben Jansen said in a recent statement.
Furniture Maxi's Approach
We are working very hard to communicate with our shipping partners and factories to get your furniture as soon as possible. We are still making and delivering high quality garden furniture without compromising on quality and without any delays. Our garden furniture products are designed to last for many years to come.
If you are planning to transform your outdoor space and purchase garden furniture for the 2022 season, we highly encourage you to shop for your desired items now to avoid disappointment next year as further delays and price increases might happen.
To help you save, we would like to offer 20% OFF any in stock garden item with the code GREATSAVINGS. Code will be active until February 28, 2022 and all in stock items are delivered within 3-5 working days.
Not everyone has enough storage space to place the furniture anywhere else other than in the garden. The best way around this is to invest in a protective cover that can be placed over the furniture at any time, protecting it from the rain, snow, UV rays and anything else that could harm it if left exposed for too long. You can read this article for more information on how to protect and care for your garden furniture.
